Kyle Sager, Founder and Managing Director of LOBOCoders has been immersed in technology since his youth. Kyle’s father, Jeffrey Sager, is a seasoned COBOL programmer. He helped foster Kyle’s interest in technology, specifically in Mainframes and COBOL programming, from such a young age. Kyle has always been fascinated by the power and influence of COBOL, and especially inspired by its proliferation as a foundational business tool in so many industries.

Kyle has demonstrated success as a Technical Recruiter and Account Manager for Apex Systems, DISYS, and Randstad. His experience and passion to be an IT Recruiter and help people get jobs, paired with decades of his father’s working COBOL knowledge motivated the start of Lobocoders.

Although COBOL is regarded as Legacy technology, and no longer “cutting-edge”, Kyle is excited by the many opportunities that still exist for COBOL programmers in this more modern age of technology. Many mission-critical, transactional business operations of financial institutions, government software, transportation, healthcare and retail still rely on COBOL to this day. Not only is there a need for COBOL experts to maintain existing code, but also to help businesses as they move away from COBOL and refactor and rearchitect their systems.
